This was my second time in Koj, the new Japanese restaurant in Regent Street, Cheltenham. The first time was a quiet, pre-theatre dinner with friends and this place is incredible!
The food is truly unique and something else, the flavours are all perfectly in balance with each other and though some may say the portions are small, I think they are again perfectly in balance and proportion with each other.
The concept of the restaurant reminds me of a tapas place and once you’ve eaten I can guarantee you will be full up! The drinks on offer were again brilliant and matched the food perfectly.
The service was wonderful, the front of house team couldn’t do enough and helped the all round experience of the meal.
My second experience in this fab place was the launch evening, it was a huge success and though slow to start, the bar and restaurant was soon packed with people. It was great to see Andrew have so much support behind him that night and also on Twitter from local businesses, people and celebrities.
With all of this support, plus a wonderful review from Jay Rayner, plus the brand new opening of the bar upstairs offering beautifully unique cocktails, I am sure the venue will go from strength to strength.
